Wanda Joy Walker passed away on April 25, 2024, at her residence in Milam, at the age of 80. She was born on September 3, 1943, in Many, Louisiana, to Clifton Roy Horn and Malva Carter Horn.

Wanda was a loving housewife and mother who had resided in Sabine County since 1998, previously living in Many, Louisiana. She was known for her expertise in plants and enjoyed working in her yard. She liked watching game shows and excelled in playing along. She also loved playing Bingo and watching hummingbirds.

She is survived by her sons, Benny Scott Walker and wife Linda of Zwolle, Louisiana, and Anthony Brent Walker of Many, Louisiana; brothers, Jack Horn of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Roy (Teti) Horn of Florine, Louisiana; sister, Sue McNeely of Shreveport; grandchildren, Nathan Scott Walker, Stacy Lynn Walker Gilgannon and husband, Kevin, Jacob Dale Walker and wife Kelly, Haylie Cheyenne Permenter and husband Rance, and Rylee Rose Walker; and great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Lexi, Riley, Hunter, Buck, Brayden, Scarlett, and Loretta.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Malva Carter; her husband of 61 years, Benny Walker; her son, Jason Todd Walker; sisters, Janice Westfall, Bobbie Gooch, Betty Westfall, Lynn Oxley, and an infant sister; and brothers, Gene Horn and Ricky Horn.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Burial will be at Beulah Cemetery in Many, Louisiana. Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas, is assisting with the arrangements.
